    The Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World or IBPOEW is an African-American fraternal order modeled on the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. It was established in 1897 in the United States. In the early 21st century, it has 500,000 members and 1500 lodges in the world.
    Description
    Daughters of I.B.P.O.E. of W. member badge.
    Two (2) ribbons are attached through a hook on the reverse. The ribbon at the front is black, while the ribbon on the back is purple. Decoration on the black ribbon is in silver, while the purple ribbon appears to be hot stamped?
    At the top is a rectangular gold-colored metal bar with a pin back, the front showing two hands shaking.
    Below that, connected by chain, forms a plaque with the word [MEMBER].
    Below that, a gold tone metal eagle, and an elk
    image in purple,
    surrounded by a leaf motif.
