    Description

    This auction is for a vintage ink pen holder for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks which is a fraternal organization founded in 1868.  There was an Elks Lodge in my home town but I was told as a child that BPOE meant Best People On Earth and many really were. I couldn't find another like it on Google or eBay.  Condition is very good with no chips or cracks.  It is made of a non magnetic metal which has a bronze patina.  Height to tip of antler is 4 1/4", width is 5 1/4" and depth is 3 3/4".  The pen holder is hard black plastic and is glued in place.  Lower back edge of base is marked U.S. PAT.148973.  Thank you for viewing my listing.  Payment is required within 48 hours of close of auction.
