    This is a beautifully sculpted piece of a lion and a serpent in stand-off . The majestic male lion, irritated by the hissing venomous threats of the snake, bends down, cowering over the coiling snake, letting him know his intimidating size. Drawing back deep into a chest he pushes out a terrible roar into the retreating snake's face. The handmade bronze sculpture was molded using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and finished with a brown patina finish for preservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the artist
    Barye's
