This Switch Is Makita's Newest Design:
Has an extra feature of a fine tuning knob on the front of the switch which is a much better design than the old design that is now obsolete. Same exact switch otherwise. Both new and old switch have variable speed. You can totally bypass the fine tuning knob and just use the variable speed switch making it exactly like the old style switch. With the old design switch, you have to hold in the trigger with your finger at a certain pressure if you want the tool to go at a certain speed. The adjustment knob is nothing more than a back rest to stabilize the speed you want to go, so you can press your finger with normal pressure on the trigger as if it was running full speed.

IF YOUR OLD SWITCH DOES NOT HAVE
A BLACK SPEED ADJUSTMENT KNOB ON THE TRIGGER, THIS SWITCH IS COMPLETELY INTERCHANGEABLE WITH YOUR OLD SWITCH.
IF YOUR OLD SWITCH HAS A LARGE BLACK BUTTON ON THE SIDE TO LOCK ON THE TOOL, PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL SEND YOU THE CORRECT SWITCH.
