  • Condition: Very Good-Excellent overall antique cond: Extraordinarily beautiful, complete & in very well pres cond. Absolutely gorgeous. The linked bronzed chain has no lock or opening clasp mechanism attached at the top of the chain (which would be located at the back of the neck) & is likely too sm to fit onto a normal adult's head. It may have been a hand-held Hindu spiritual amulet or pendant or possibly designed to hang in a home's sm personal religious shrine from a nail fastener on a wall. Reticulated & hammered (or stamped) by hand, it features wonderful hand tooled surfaces, neat & clean reticulation & expressive figuration of fauna. Absolutely wonderful late 19th-early 20th c antique South Indian tribal craftsmanship & artistry. Lovely.
