Authentic Antique Indo - Persian, Islamic sword, Indian Talwar - Tulwar 18th century Mughal India.
DETAILS: An iron hilt of typical 18th century Northern Indian Islamic type, with a large prominent disk-shaped pommel surmounted by the bud - shaped finial, a cross-guard formed with a pair of short quillons with swollen terminals and long shaped langets, a knuckle bow with a stylized dragon head terminal.
A broad sturdy curved single edged hand forged steel blade with a false edge – yelmen, cut on each face with full – length fuller, chiseled with maker's mark and slightly visible Damascus watered lamination pattern. The wooden scabbard bound in black fabric and mounted with steel chape.
CONDITION: Signs of usage and wear, blade and hilt are slightly pitted.
