Antique Fraternal Elks BPOE Sterling Silver Card Case Fob-1900's

Description

This well made sterling silver card case fob features the BPOE insignia on the front side with intricate scrolled engraving and a monogrammed back side.
These were usually sold in high end jewelry stores and the craftsmanship reveals a hinged area, top pivoting loop, and inside design for holding cards.
Made to impress, these were often worn along with the watch and attached to the fob.
Measures 2-1/8'' tall by 1-1/2'' wide and is 3/16'' thick.
The inside is gilded and has a gold wash appearance and is inscribed, Sterling Pat'd Aug 3,09 (1909).
The initials on the reverse side of case appear to be GCW.
In good condition with several areas of dulling noted with one area along insignia of blue enamel loss.
