Description
The Lindsey Hopkins Vocational School was created in the 1930s by Dade County (in Miami, Florida) when the then Roosevelt Hotel on Fourteenth Street was sold at a bargain price by Lindsey Hopkins and his son Lindsey Hopkins, Jr. It was originally founded to teach trades needed in the booming hotel industry of South Florida but by the 1960s it had expanded to include "night school" classes for many needed trades. By 1962 it was known as the "Lindsey Hopkins Educational Center". It is now called the "Lindsey Hopkins Technical College"l.This program is a "Souvenir of Graduation" of the 1962 graduates of the Practical Nursing Program. It has
several points of historical interest.
First, it lists the 21
all female
graduates. Second, it includes the "Practical Nurses Motto":
"She doeth little kindnesses-- which most leave undone or despise". James Russell Lowell
Third it lists the presenters in the graduation and last it includes on the back cover the
"Practical Nurses Pledge"
which is, in itself an interesting nugget.
The booklet is a single fold and measures 5½ by 8 inches when closed.
Postage is FREE to U.S. destinations.
