This MILITARY badge represents a person that carried out "nurse like" duties and sometimes referred to a male nurse back in the early to mid 20th century.  Acquired this from a relative that worked at the San Francisco Army Presidio.  He passed at a ripe old age of 101.   The badge is approx. 1-7/8 inches tall and is maker marked:  IRVINE & HACHENS S.F.  They have been making military, police and fire badges since 1906 and had locations on Market Street and Mission St. in S.F.  Original working pin.  Nice badge for orderly that was at the Headquarters Hospital. . .
